Reasoning

The type of reasoning that I use to make my decisions is seeing what my strong points are. I see what are the things that I can do well, and what are the things that I need to improve on. This is very important in choosing my career in the future. For example, I am not very good at math, so it would be a terrible idea for me to decide to try and become an engineer  down the road. Taking different courses while I am attending college is going to help me find out what I can do effectively and enjoy. When I first came to San Jose State I was never interested in health science. I thought that it was going to be boring, but after taking a kinesiology class I found out that it is really enjoyable and it is something I am now thinking about doing as a career. It is important to base my reasonings off of things that I am good at because it will give me a higher chance of success.

  1. I, too, choose to do the type of reasoning daily where my decisions are based on my strong points. Maybe you don't need to improve your weak points and focus on your strongest point to use it to your full capacity. As a student in San Jose State University, I believe that is good that they require general education requirement because then students like yourself can find out what they enjoy and what subjects they are not best at. I am also taking courses in the health department because I found it interesting just like you! This way, I can say I had a successful life because enjoyed my life-long career.

  2. I use this type of decision making all the time. I usually compare what I am better at, then do that certain thing instead of the other. I always want to do the best at something and this type of decision making is exactly that. I am great at math and am a engineering major because of it. If you ever need help with math I can easily help you. You always have to think before you act in situations like school and choosing a major. I hope that choosing health science is the right choice and you make a good living choosing the right career.

  3. I think it is very important to know what your strengths and weaknesses are. I think that it can be very hard to really accurately define ones strengths and weaknesses because a lot of times people give themselves more credit than they deserve for their strengths, or beat themselves up too much for their weaknesses. So learning how to analyze myself well is very difficult for me. It is always good to pursue a career that will utilize ones strengths. I think it can also be a good goal to improve in the areas one is the weakest at, although this is usually more difficult. For example I am not a very strong communicator so I run into problems at work trying to get my ideas heard. I spend a lot of energy trying to get better at it.
